Sandton Grand Hotel Reylof

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. That is why a lobby of a hotel is so important. It's the first thing you see walking into a hotel and it defines your whole stay.
Luckily for us, Sandton Grand Hotel Reylof disposes of a magnificent lobby. The delightful combination of history mixed with modern touches makes our lobby so elegant and gracious. The various spaces it holds, make the guests feel at home. The lobby has a living room with an open fire which disposes of an open library. The living room is a place where guests can relax casually while overlooking the courtyard.

A lobby can never be overrated, that is why we feel ours should be considered one of the best hotel lobbies. When you walk into the lobby of Sandton Grand Hotel Reylof, you can feel history surrounding you. Our lobby is situated in the oldest part of the building which is a typical eighteenth century mansion that was built in Louis XIV style. It used to be the family home of Lordship Olivier de Reylof, a merchant's son who was raised in Ghent. Furthermore Maurice Maeterlinck, who won the Nobel prize for literature in 1911, was born here. The room were he was born is a hotel room nowadays. That's why we have a private bar called Blue Bird, which was a famous play by Maeterlinck.

The building has been renovated, but the atmosphere always stayed the same. The interior has a prestigious empire style, some of the stunning details include an impressive spiral staircase and various empire mantelpieces. Everything about our lobby is grand, as is the rest of our hotel. That's why we do grand gestures as well. Recently, Sandton Grand Hotel Reylof got its very own bespoke tailor working in the business corner looking out on the lobby. As you can see, our lobby takes a great part in satisfying our guests. Which is why our lobby should be awarded as Best Hotel Lobby!
